Constella for Even G2 transcribes meetings that you start and shows live insights ("cues") on the lens of your glasses. It also has an optional feature called voice recognition. This section explains the voice data that feature uses and how we handle it. If anything in this section conflicts with another part of this Privacy Policy, this section applies.
Voice recognition is off by default. If you do not turn it on, we do not create a voice signature for you. If you turn it on, we create a "voice signature" from your own speech during your meetings. A voice signature is a list of 192 numbers calculated from your speech. It is not an audio recording, and it cannot be turned back into audio. Some laws treat this kind of data as biometric information (for example, a "voiceprint"), and so do we.
We use your voice signature for one purpose only: to label which parts of your meeting transcripts and live insights you said ("You") and which parts other people said (for example, "Them 1" and "Them 2"). We do not use it for anything else. The other uses listed in "Use of Your Information" above do not apply to voice signatures.
We create and use a voice signature only with your explicit consent. To turn on voice recognition, you go to Settings > Privacy > Recognize voices in the app and read an explanation of how it works before you agree. Turning it on is your written consent, given electronically. We record when you gave your consent and which version of it you agreed to. You can withdraw your consent at any time by turning voice recognition off.
Your meetings may include other people. When voice recognition is on, we tell other speakers apart within a single meeting by creating temporary numeric voice representations of them. We keep these only while that meeting is running, and never for more than 4 hours. We delete them when the meeting ends. They are never saved to your account, never linked to anyone's name, and never used to identify or recognize anyone across meetings.
Our Terms of Service require you to tell people when you transcribe a conversation with them, and to get any consent the law requires before you use voice recognition around them.
We keep your voice signature only as long as we need it to label speakers for you. We permanently delete it:
We delete other people's temporary voice representations when the meeting ends, and never keep them for more than 4 hours.
We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from voice signatures. We do not share or disclose them to anyone, except when the law requires us to. The sharing described in "Disclosure of Your Information" above does not apply to voice signatures.
We process voice signatures on Constella's own servers. No third-party speech service receives them. Voice signatures are encrypted in transit and at rest, and access to them is restricted.
To create your meeting transcripts, we send meeting audio to speech-to-text service providers that work on our behalf. This is how transcription works whether or not voice recognition is on. These providers never receive your voice signature.
You also have the rights described in "Your Data Protection Rights" above.
Some laws give biometric information extra protection. Examples include the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), the biometric privacy laws of Texas and Washington, and data protection law in the European Union and the United Kingdom (the GDPR and UK GDPR), which treats biometric data used to identify a person as a "special category" of personal data. If you live in a place with a law like these, we process your voice signature only with your consent. Your written consent is the opt-in you give electronically in the app when you turn on voice recognition. Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, our legal basis for this processing is your explicit consent. You can withdraw it at any time by turning voice recognition off. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew it.
This section is our publicly available written policy for voice signatures, including our schedule for keeping them and permanently destroying them.
